Click at the end of very short recordings

May 21, 2011 | 7:33 pm

Hi all, I am recording very short audio files (the shortest are 166ms) with record~/buffer~ and am getting clicks at the end of the shorter recorded files.

I’m automatically ramping volume at the start and end of the recording, which on files longer than about 400ms seems to do the trick. But with very short files there is still a click at the end, even with a ramp of more than 100ms – quite noticeable and frustrating!

I know it’s not an issue of the recording ending before the ramp, since I’ve checked with a print object – timing seems correct all around.

Any ideas how I might get rid of this? Thanks!

The patch, if it helps:

Ah, sorry everyone – it turns out it was one of those stupid programming mistakes that is so simple that it takes about three hours to find.

Argh!
