coll renumber question

Hello,

Is there a solution to tell coll to renumber its contents with maximum 16 values ? It should not go above 16 but rather start on 1 again. I have a 16- items long list and want to resort it in a closed loop of 16 steps…

Have a look in the [p sort_and_swap] subpatch in the [coll] help file, “sort -1 -1, renumber 1″ might work for you. As you are dealing with lists then perhaps [zl sort] would be more useful. If this isn’t helping perhaps post a patch to better illustrate your problem.

Sadly nothing of coll-commands helps, and I have build a workaround for this. Basically I reorder the coll contents with [zl rot] and send it back again to coll:

If that would mean that there are multiple entries with the same index, then that would not work.

you are right, not with coll only. The index is always the same, but I’m happy now with my coll–> zl solution, it works very well !
