coll subsym question

I’m trying to use the subsym message with a coll, and it seems to work only if the index item is non-numeric; i.e., “subsym Mantle Maris” works, but “subsym 2 1″ just results in an error message in the MAX window. It would be very handy for me to have the numeric subsym work. Can anyone suggest a workaround?

Thanks.

But be carefull, if the new index exists, you’ll overwrite it…
