Is there a way to get the max5 style color picker back?

I recently updated to max6 and i can only get the osx system color picker which is terrible.

The main problem with it is the number range it works in. max expects colors to be between 0 and 1.

The osx color picker gives me an 8 bit range of 0 to 255. So everytime i need to get the right color value for max i have to convert it which is very annoying.

Also the max5 colour picker would always open right where i just clicked the color i want to change and close again after i'm finished with it. That behaviour was very straight forward. Now the color picker opens somewhere and stays opened even though i don't care about changing color anymore.

Same is actually true for the object explorer that opens when double clicking.

I never ever use it but sometimes it pops open when i double click somewhere accidentally. In max 5 this was fine because it would close by itself after i clicked just somewhere. Now i have to hit that small close button.

Is it only me who thinks it is tedious to convert colour values?

I use changing panel colour quite a lot as indicator.
