Comments on panels vanish…

March 5, 2006 | 6:02 am

It seems that comments on a panel (locked into the background) simply
vanish as soon I lock the patch. First I thought they are placed bhind
the panel, becaus when unlocking the background and send the panel to
back, they appear and stay there, but this also works when I send the
panel to front…

Unfortunately this method is not helpfull when I script a comment.

Bugreport:

Scripting (or just placing) a comment on a panel which is in the
background is invisible in the locked patcher.

Expected result a visible comment.

Steps to reproduce: look at the following patch…

Stefan

#P window setfont "Sans Serif" 9.;
#P window linecount 2;
#P message 326 41 180 196617 script new com comment 20 104 162 196617 My
beautiful comment;
#P window linecount 1;
#N thispatcher;
#Q end;
#P newobj 326 81 66 196617 thispatcher;
#P user panel 2 22 306 246;
#X brgb 240 140 90;
#X frgb 0 0 0;
#X border 0;
#X rounded 0;
#X shadow 0;
#X done;
#P background;
#P connect 2 0 1 0;
#P window clipboard copycount 3;

a work around for this is to bring your new comment to the front after creating it. For example send:

‘script new com comment 20 104 162 196617 My beautiful comment, script bringtofront com’

to ‘thispatcher’

best,

john.
