connected max/msp and DMX USB Pro plus a dimmer(sbc-3100)

simply I want to output light with a dimmer by DMX USB Pro. I purchased the “dmxusbpro – DMX 512 external for Max”, but “not connected” messages show every time when i press the button on the program. Is there anyone can tell me the reason!?

indeed i don’t knwo what happen to my “dmx” because the computer told me i have to install the driver or what, does it mean the disc packed with the DMX hardware!?

Funny, I spent some time with this today.

It does work for me (but under MacOS). Did you install the right VCP driver, as asked in the help file?

Make sure you install the necessary drivers:

Thank you, I really didnt recognized that i have to install driver before using it, but there is nothing change after installing the driver thou =(

I can use the utility pro to test my DMX and the dimmer works. but it just still unconnected with the max/msp =(

On OSX, before trying to delete the wrong extension, you have to unload it:

sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/D2XX.kext (or whatever is the name of the extension).

Then you should be able to remove it.

Hey I have the same problem, my drivers are up to date, the firmware as well and the pro utility recognized the unit right away …
