Controlling Gain and Sends in Ableton in M4L

April 13, 2011 | 9:31 am

Hello,

Sorry for the really noob question, Im trying to create a M4L device that controls the gain and sends of each channel in Ableton, with relevant metres.

Iv tried the API Dial to control the sends but it doesn’t like more than one instance.

Im a fairly competent Max user but this is my first go with M4L.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

That could turn into a resource hog; monitoring the signal meters of the tracks can take up some cpu time.

Alas, not too sure I grasp your question; what are you puzzled with? How to monitor certain track properties or how to control them ?

You already mentioned that you were able to control the sends, but "didn’t like more than once instance" eludes me. You can easily control more; just add the right live.remote~ (or live.object) objects, point them to the controls you wish to control and start feeding the right values.

So; where exactly is this eluding you ?

Try my M4L patch found here:

It should all be open for you to take a look…..
