I am hoping someone has a simple solution to the patch I am working on. I am aware that a HEX value is just a different way to display numbers or count. Here is what I am trying to do. I want to use the jit.matrix object as a preset bank storage object for my hardware synth. I have a working patch that can send data to my hardware synth and receive MIDI from it to adjust the parameters in the patch. If I save the patch in Ableton and open it back up it then loads these values into the synth. So that works.

What I want to do is sync the values for all banks and patches so that when I change presets on my synth, all the parameters in my patch change with it. Since Ableton filters sysex I thought I would just use the program change messages to trigger output from the jit.matrix object to the values in the patch. So, instead of using a pattr object I was going to use the jit.matrix object to store all the values. I have all my patches as sysex files. Or, in one large sysex file. All of the values of each parameter are in HEX in this file. I can copy this into a message object.

So here is the problem. How do I funnel this list into the jit.matrix object? I can figure out how to make logic to put the values in the proper order but I need the value of the parameter in hex converted to decimal or an int so it will go into the jit.matrix object. This is what I have at least come to the conclusion I need to do to try and get my idea to work.

If anybody else is wondering about this application. The answer is the filein object. It will read in the entire file. Then, to extract the information into decimal values, connect a number box to it and read out each byte individually as a decimal value. Pretty easy.
