then follow the help file, it should work like a charm..

I think this patch is in the Max 4.x version of the CNMAT depot here:

http://cnmat.berkeley.edu/files/maxdl/ANY/MMJ-DEPOT_1.56.zip

It is nothing more than tanh~ with a +~ in front of it.
