Could I tipe in Textedit and register at the same time those keys in max?

August 16, 2007 | 12:40 pm

Hello…

well, I?m trying to write a simple text in Textedit, but I need that meanwhile I am writing it, the keys I am pressing may be registered by the "keys" object in max (but Textedit window must be in front), and so the QWERTY keys make the things I have told them to do in max.

Is there anyway of making this possible?

Thaks a lot.

Along these lines, is there any way for Max to grab those keystrokes when another application (non-Max) is in front? My thought was "no", only one app gets keyfocus at a time, right?

You’re right, but ice.key from iCE Tools will give you those keystrokes even if Max isn’t the frontmost app.
