Totally new to Max and was wondernig how easy it would be and where to start or if there is already a device out there that can count the number of tracks that are producing a level in any given length of a track that you play (a loop or whatever) which will basically count the elements and add them up giving you a number.. only based on TRACKS and disregaring any GROUPS levels as this would give you addiditional numbers which are not actually more elements

in order to count how many different elements you are playing at any given time, to help aid the arrangemnet process of keeping the number of different elements within the magic range of 7 +/- 3
