";" crashing max

Hi maxers,

I am workng on patch to parse xml data… everything was going fine until now….
The xml has “;” that is coming from a html source and when I process the xml max crashes because of the “;” inside the xml file…. I removed all “;” from the xml and works well, but I need the “;” to be there because its a link to a source for a image/video on the net…. Can i sort that somehow? Please please, please….. HELP !!!!!!!!!!

Mac OSX max4.6 jitter 1.6

Thanks

Toni

Depends what you’re using to parse the data! Have you got a bit more info?

How are you doing the POST request? A simple example would help..

Let me explain what I have to do quickly…

tag and untag things on a webpage…. According to the guy working on the web interface its simple and should be like….

his words:

1) in the web all data modifications run over POST requests. We can try XML if you really want to but I’m not completely sure how that will work.
2) you can add a tag to an item on the webapp by POSTing data to
3) you have to post following items:

tag => ‘a string’ (sadly you cannot separate several tags with commas, let me know if you want to change this)
_method => ‘PUT’ (required!!!)

So the idea is to have simple on/off situation on max… if on, tag is applied if off no tags is applied…

hope that is clear?

thanks again…..

Good to know, but even buggy patching should not crash Max, if you can
provide support with the exact cause for the crash and your solution to
avoid it, the crash might be avoidable for future versions of Max. It
might turn into a useful error message for example… (would help others
to track it down faster than even you did… ;-)

Depending weather you have Jitter or not, did you look into jit.uldl?…
