Is there a way to have max output 3 or 4 word phrases from a large text file? I've looked at the text object which can output random lines but not words, so I'm using that for the moment. I've also checked out the mxj speaktest object but that only chucks out one word in the sequence of the text source.

Have a look at [regexp], it is quite complicated but it lets you be very specific about what type of text to select. The easier method is to chain some [zl slice] objects together once you get a random line from the [text] object.

I would use zl mth. Just grab a line from [text] and choose a word or two at random. zl len will give you the number of words in the line, set your random range to that, and grab.

but it's true, if you can understand regexp, you'll probably never come up for air with all the cool things it can do...
