cyclops in max 5?

Hi, I'm currently working on a project in which a live video capture controls audio. with some background deletion I would like to create blocks in the four corners that with trigger loops when the person moves through the space.

I started with jit.peek but found it to be kind of weak for what i want to do. I was able to have an oscillation trigger when the person broke the top edge of the video but thats it.

I've messed around with cv.jit but I have had some trouble figuring it out.

Cyclops seems like the perfect tool but I have read that it needs to be changed for max 5. I read through the pdf and it seems that the help file isn't showing the 2 video windows when its opened in max5. Can I download an older demo version of max if im already running a demo of max5?? if not what kind of changes can I make to cyclops in max5 to get it to function properly.

Any other suggestions would be great too. thanks.

i believe that you can download a max 4.63 from cycling74 and use that instead.

that won't conflict with having a copy of the max 5 demo running?

No, installing both shouldn't cause problems. Max 4 and 5 can coexist quite happily.

awesome, it works much better, I'm able to see the pallet and video windows. thanks so much.

does anyone have suggestions for accomplishing my goal of linking sound loops to blocks in cyclops? should i use some kind of buffer?

anything will help. I have about 15 days to figure it out.

Does anyone know anything about the PACE anti-piracy download? Now after I downloaded the older version of max when I try to open max 5 I'm prompted with a window and directed to a page to download this.

Have you looked into Jitter Tutorial 25? I have been thinking about making something like Cyclops using some combinations of those techniques, [jit.poke~], and other ways of looking at specific colors or points in a matrix because not only is Cyclops not for Max 5, but it seems to be PPC only (all my PPC machines have died).

I'll have nothing to report any time soon because this is for a ballet project I am doing in 2009--just brainstorming now.

Good luck either making something in Max 5 or going back to Max 4.6 (it hurts my eyes--yes, I patch too long in one block).
