is there a simple way to force [DAC~] to output to, for instance, "Built-in CoreAudio" independently on how many options are there?

Actually [adstatus driver] accepts numbers, not text, and they change accordingly to what is connected (ps especially when switching from Lion to Mountain Lion, where you can have with number "1" "coreaudio Airplay" and "coreaudio Built-in")
