I have tried using cv.jit.faces and background subtraction.... it was acceptable... but still not accurate...

I'm new to cv.jit, but have you tried to use cv.jit.faces to cut out the face and then use the resulting matrix with special jit.ops to "extrude" the exact face shape? You said grab it, right?

And I think there were some nice edge detectors lying around as well.
