Digidesign Digi002 Rack with Max/MSP

July 18, 2007 | 9:21 pm

Hi everyone,

I’m having an annoying problem using my Digidesign Digi002 Rack with
Max/MSP… somehow 0dB pink noise always appears at the inputs, no
matter what I plug into it. Pro Tools works fine, I can record with
it, but in Max only the outputs of the Digi002 work, nothing but
noise at the inputs.
I wrote to Digidesign and posted on their forum, but didn’t get a
response.

I’m using an 2.33GHz MacBook Pro, Pro Tools LE 7.1.1 and the Digi
CoreAudio Manager, and Max/MSP 4.6.3.

The Digi002 is my only audio interface, and I don’t want to use the
computer’s built-in inputs because they’re noisy too.

I’d be very grateful if anyone here has been through the same thing
and has any tips.

Thanks!

Alexandra

that should be a problem related
with Macintel and digidesign

i think that if u update protools untill what u can for free, u’ll get
an update for digi coreaudio that will fix this macintel problem

if u updated already everything
i dont know, but , if my memory doesnt fail
7.1.1 it’s not the latest.

maybe tomorrow i can try it on my macbook
but it’s not PRO.

cheers

hello

I work sometimes with a digi002R (mostly with an RMe400).
I did not have the problem you noticed, also on Macbookpro;
Is your 002 firmware updated ?
Try like Tommy sais also to install the last version of ProTools (7.3)?but 7.1.1 should work…

and – I’m not sure at all but … – see also your setting in the Max dsp status,
try to change the buffer values, it helps sometimes with the digi002
trash also the Protools prefs ?
anyway it should work !

Best

Eryck
