hello!

There is any way to make on max a window with a permenent disk explorer? so i can drag files in an fullscreen patch!

You should be able to create somthing like that with jit.cellblock

yeah i have a vst plugin browser, plus a help file browser, etc etc…. very useful stuff. All hail jit.cellblock!

___the two main objects you need to learn are___
folder
jit.cellblock

also, look at the max filetypes text file in the c74 folder for help with filetype abbreviations [plus making your own]…

everything should become apparent in due time 8-)

i really think cycling should consiter making a filebrowsing gui object,- capable of dragging files to the drop region…

I have other working drag ‘n’ drop solutions, but i think they are very cumbersome to incorate in projects…

If a whole gui object for this is to much to ask, i think at least there should be a [drag] object…. you should just be able to feed it with a filepath, and after this you could drag it to the drop region`….

I think the missing filebrowser is a big shortcomming of the max enviroment…

filebrowse.mxj by topher is nice, but it outputs the path on mouse up, which makes drag ‘n’ drop harder + it will not output folders, only files…..

It doesn’t do everything everybody wants (nothing does everything
everybody wants), but it does do some things that some people want
and it does it pretty quickly.

As soon as the ICE stuff is ported to Universal, i will check it out right away ;)
and ofcourse i was adressing you, amongs others….

but i still think it’s a crime, that there is no included filebrowser included in max… it can’t be to hard for the Max designers ?
Max is almost perfect to my needs, except for two things :

1. No Nice Filebrowser
2. No sync for the vst~ object (see previous post : vst~ prayer)
