downloading maxmsp objects

January 4, 2007 | 3:02 am

Hi,

I’ve been going to this site http://www.maxobjects.com and downloaded some really intresting objects.
I keep the objects in my external map and the help files in my… help files.
The only problem is that max doesn’t find the objects iff I type the name of the downloaded in an empty object.

Thanks for your help,

Jeroen

Hi,

if you are creating a new folder for the new externals and this folder
is a subfolder of a folder already in the search path, you will have to
quit and launch Max again before it sees the new external.

Best,
Trond

You can also double-click the external(s), or drag&drop it/them onto the Max icon, or choose the "Install…" command from the File menu and locate the external you want to load.
Useful for a quick test purpose!

Which points to an old request for a command to rebuild the search path.
I always found it annoying to restart Max only to rebuild the search
path… (That it doesn’t do it automatically is fine…)
