Hi,

Could it be true that enabling dsp by sending a 1 to [adstatus switch] only works when max is the active (as in focused) application?

I’m sending an event from logic to max that triggers a 0 and 1 second later a 1 to [adstatus switch]. On 0, dsp switches off, but on 1, dsp only switches back on if max is active.

Could anyone confirm this?

Thanks,

Here is a patch to reproduce.

Description: see previous post.

Expected results: dsp can be turned on and off regardless of whether or not max is the active application.

Steps to reproduce are in the patch.

Max 4.6.2. Mac OS 10.4.8.

Is this intended? If so, is there a way to circumvent this?

mmm…. not completely true. I can turn off dsp when Max is not the active application as described in my previous post, but the opposite is not true.

Ex.:
Setting toggle on then cmd-tab to another app.; the second toggle is set to on, but dsp is not turned on. Don’t know if this situation is a problem for you, but there’s a problem, for sure.

Thanks for confirming, Julien. This is definitly a problem for me. I need to be able to turn dsp on and off while max is not the active program. Off will work, but on won’t.

Summarizing, two confirmed problems:

1) graphics of the ezdac~ object don’t update at all when max is not the active program

2) switching dsp on doesn’t work when max is not the active program

I would greatly appreciate if someone from cycling 74 could confirm this.

Thanks,

Is it possible for you to let us know when you had a look? It’s important for us to be certain whether or not this will be fixed. If this proves permanent I’ll have to rewrite a significant part of the progam we’ve been working on this last month. Please let us know your findings..
