In the spirit of what max 5 is doing, I thought of an interesting feature. Lets say you have a large section of a patch which you want to move into a subpatcher, you have to cut, and paste, and then add inlets and outlets where it was connected before, what if there was an option for that in the right click menu, so you could select all the objects that you want encapsulated, and right click, go to encapsulate and it would automatically create a subpatcher, and inlets and outlets connecting all of the things that were previously connected. this could be a nice time saver in several situations, depending on individuals patching style.

It’s not in the right click menu, but if you select all the objects that you want encapsulated, and then go to the “Edit” drop-down menu, there is an option encapsulate which does exactly what you want.

Do you mean like an autobpatcher creator?
Kind of like encapsulating and adding the ins and outs and sticking it inside a bpatcher automatically?

I’ve wished for a quick way to do this. Maybe I’m missing something?

oh wow hahahaha thats really funny, I never saw that in the edit menu, but yeah would be cool to have in the right click menu. And also having one that made Bpatchers would be pretty useful too. I probably shouldn’t post when Im half awake.

Or before typing “subpatcher” or “encapsulate” into any of several search boxes, come to that. Max 5 makes this a whole lot easier.
