Im changing the loop_start loop_end on every beat and its causing live to glitch up completely. Once I stop changing these things, live carries on going and I cant set the loop_start or end again. Is there some kind of problem with live queueing up these commands and then outputting them at a later stage?
Don’t move the loop start point as it will move the play head…
It won’t cope with the changes your making at that rate anyway…
Ideally I would like to move the play head…. Im breaking a 4 beat clip up into 4 sections for instance and selecting them at different intervals, which works nicely. However, if I move the play head too quickly it seems to queue up lots of movements and it wont stop outputting them for quite some time. Why is it like this? Since the play head only moves based on relativity to the loop points, how is it possible to chop up a clip into pieces and play them respectively?
Look into the objects….
Buffer, chucker etc…
You won’t be able to acheive what you want through the Live.api, it’s just not fast enough, you’ll need to sample the audio into an object and play it back somehow…
