error message building collective

May 5, 2007 | 7:06 pm

Hi list,

It seems that I can’t customize splash picts when I build a collective/app.
Could someone clear me about these error Max reports :

. error: error -1 locating "meHD:/Users/drkgsx/Desktop/multiFX.pct"
error in line: appsplash "meHD:/Users/drkgsx/Desktop/multiFX.pct"

And I don’t see anything wrong with my script :

open thispatcher
appsplash
"meHD:/Users/drkgsx/Desktop/multiFX.pct"

appicon
"meHD:/Users/drkgsx/Desktop/multiFX.icns"

include "meHD:/Users/drkgsx/MAO/MaxMSP-drik/externals_ajouts/Audio/altiverb~1.0test4/build-mac/altiverb~"

any idea ?

Hello again,

I know that many posts treat the question of how to add splash & icone to collectives, but it absolutely doesn’t work for me.

Any sugestion would be great .

I tryed :
open thispatcher
appsplash "multiFX.pct"
appicon "multiFX.icns"

without quotes :
open thispatcher
appsplash multiFX.pct
appicon multiFX.icns

without spaces :
open thispatcher
appsplash"multiFX.pct"
appicon"multiFX.icns"

and with full path also

etc.. etc..

What’s the matter ?
Pictures file are on the desktop which is in max search path.
So where is the mystery ?

In order to make sure that it’s not a path problem:
- Choose Build Plug-in / Collective / Applications in the File Menu
- click on the "Include File" button
- choose your image file
- in the new ligne of text, replace the "include" keyword by appsplash
- do the same thing for the icon
- build the application.

oh, wait, do you want a specific icon/splash screen for a collective?
appsplash and appicon only work for applications. So you’ll have to
change manually the icon in the Finder, and do whatever you want to
display a splash screen (open a subpatcher with an image, i. e.).
