Event Triggered on Specific Midi Note

I’m trying to set up a small patch that maps looping video clips to midi keys, each which are set to a low alpha to overlap each other when, say, a chord is played. How do I go about having the patch wait for a specific note, looping the correlating clip until the key is released?

I’ve been scanning through these tutorials looking for ways to integrate different objects, but I seem to have hit a roadblock. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There are a jillion approaches to this problem. Here’s one of them:

Chris/anyone,

Is there a way to track multiple keypresses at once? I fiddled with poly a bit, but might just be missing something. I want, say, the 4 most recent keypresses to remain toggled when I play a chord. Instead, it maps the most recent.

I would suggest to look at timer. If notes come in at, let’s say, 50 mmsec from each other then they will be considered as a chord, otherwise as single events…
from there it’s a mapping issue.

borax might be of use as well.

Thanks guys. I figured it out (accidentally). I fiddled with the key_press’ trigger attributes, setting it to not reset when a new note was held down.

My ram is beginning to take a dip because I have a lot of clips simultaneously playing. Is there a way I can have them paused until the corresponding key is pressed?

Not sure exactly what you’re asking here. Something like this?
