every now and then nan

April 9, 2013 | 11:26 pm

Hi everybody!

do anybody know why some "nan" (so: not a number) once every while crashes my dsp?
i have a Kontakt [vst~] from which i have some audio signals out to the dsp, and there is nothing which shouldn’t be a number coming out from these patchcords, so I’m really trying to figure out this…

there is no single action which looks like its triggering this behaviour…
any of you experienced something like this before? is it possibly a bug?
any tip?
Thanks!

i would say the opposite, while it may behave correctly in other host programs, a VST plug-in is a typical source for NaNs in max.

There is the bitsafe~ object that might help prevent nans spreading throughout the dsp chain.
