I tried to build the "maximum" example on my PPC from the max 4.6 sdk (june 2006), I named it ppcmaximum.mxo then tested on my intel imac (2ghz core duo).

* error: ppcmaximum: unable to load object bundle executable

2006-09-30 09:45:26.506 MaxMSP[1455] CFLog (21): dyld returns 2 when trying to load /Users/tritone/Desktop/MaxMSP UB SDK/example-externs/intelmaximum/build/Development/ppcmaximum.mxo/Contents/MacOS/maximum

So I tried to build the maximum object from the intel and share it to the ppc but it didn't worked either...

What's up ? Both computer use osx 10.4.7 / xcode 2.4 / max 4.6.2 / pluggo 3.6

In Xcode you have to set the "Active Build Configuration" to 

"Deployment" in order to produce UB code.

If set to "Development" you end up with only PPC or Intel code, 

depending on what machine you are producing.

ok I went to the target panel seting, then double clicked on "architecture" then selected both PPC and intel, and it work now

This will indeed produce UB code for both platforms. However, the 

method that Roby mentioned is still what you want to do. If your 

build configuration is set to "Development" instead of "Deployment" 

then it is likely that you are compiling with ZeroLink enabled which 

is going to cause you lots of (seemingly mysterious) problems when 

you want to distribute your external to other machines.

external build on PPC don't work on intel (& vice versa)
