feature request involving [live.grid]

hello all,

i love [live.grid], i used and still use [matrixctrl]. but one thing that i would like as an add on, feature request or a walk-around, is a step hit output.
say that when i click on the first and seventh step with a value. when that step has been hit, the number of the step outputs that number of what step step it is, say the first and seventh, giving no other value out apart from the step that has been hit. if this makes sense.

i have tried some workarounds but am completely stuck. if anyone does know of a walk-around i would be grateful. but would like this feature placed into [live.grid] if possible, and maybe [matrixctrl]. i know the requests that are asked frequently, but if this cant be done, fair enough.
