When I'm debugging, or even running some patchers, there are times when I temporarily want things disconnected. Rather than actually disconnecting outlets from inlets (and having to remember what was connected), I'd love to be able to right-click (say) on a wire and make it be disabled. From an execution perspective, there would be no connection but it then becomes trivial to reconnect again later.

you mean like 2 finger click (on mac) and choose disable/enable (Max 6)?

Oooh ---- very sweet --- I did not know about that ---- I'm still using Max 5 due to some problems with Max 6 but I'm hoping to move to Max 6 again very soon.
