Hi there, I am trying to create an audio recording/playback loop: a patch that will record audio and subsequently loop it continuously whilst continually adding the new recordings over the top. I believe it is called a boomerang effect? Kind of like what Alvin Lucier did with his video "I am Sitting In A Room" except a fully automatic process.

Has anyone got any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated!

What you're explaining is a delay loop with feedback. A pedal effect that does this is (was?) called the Boomerang, which is probably where you've picked up that name.

The simplest of delay lines can achieve this effect today, and you can build delays in Max using tapin~/tapout~ pairs.
