fiddle question

September 28, 2008 | 10:40 am

hello

I have been trying to find out exactly what comes out of the last outlet of the fiddle object (individual sinusiodal components). Can someone explain. I’ve read documentation, but still don’t really understand it.

Depending on what you give fiddle~ as its fourth argument, it outputs
x number of partials in frequency-amplitude pairs so if you have 3 as
the fourth argument then fiddle~ outputs something like this:

1 freq1 amp1, 2 freq2 amp2, 3 freq3 amp3

With the above using [route 1 2 3] you can separate the data for
individual partials (using the first number of each list as an
index). Then you can unpack the 2 element lists of freq amp (floats)
using something like [unpack 0. 0.].
