It does sound like that. I believe the size is represented in the header by a 4-byte unsigned integer. That should give you a 4 gig limit, but if Max is interpreting that as *signed*, you’d have a 2 gig limit. (This is a common error for software.)

Fat lot of good that info does you…

The answer is in your description. There is a file size limit for 32-bit
file systems which is 2 GB. SoundHack probably doesn’t know anything
about newer file systems…

Hi to all,
the error in MaxMSP 6.1.6 is still there! Please Cycling guys, remove this limitation of the 2 Gb (2.15 in my case, at 48 KHz, 24 bit) size, I have to build an app that records and play back session files with 48 channels at 48 KHz, 24 bit, merged in an unique file. ProTools opens and unfolds this files without problems.
sfrecord is capable also to record 48 channels instead the descripted 28 channel, maybe there’s an error in the reference.
I need a minimum of 3 hours of recordings and playback, the use is for virtual sound checks in live environments.
Thanx!
Italo
