Hello,

Please where’s the documentation about max fileformats in Max 5?

thank you.

If you’re asking about a specification that describes the xml format used for Max patching files, there isn’t one, nor are there any plans to produce one at this point.

If your question concerns another sort of file format and I’ve misunderstood you, please let me know.

There was a topic in Max4 about ;max fileformat and the fileformat.txt itself

I can’t re-find it in Max5.

??

Ah, that’s better.

Check Help > Max Help and look in the blue boxes on the right. You’ll find "Messages to Max," "Messages to dsp", and "Messages to Jitter."

Also if you’re wondering about file formats that Max reads, like text, audio, pictures, video, etc., it’s in Cycling ’74 — init — max-fileformats.txt. This gives you the codes for things like .mov, which is "MooV". Set these in umenu inspectors to filter filetypes.

I’m trying to load the filepath of a .mov file located in my desktop and get nothing in my [umenu].

Even loadbanging a message which contain "max fileformat .mov mov;".

But these:
;
max fileformat .flv flv;
max fileformat .mp4 mp4;
max fileformat .wmv wmv;

work fine

Is there an issue with .mov files format?
