Firefly MV camera on windows PC

I searched previous posts for opinions of this camera:

http://www.ptgrey.com/products/fireflymv/index.asp

and get the impression there might be problems getting it to work with max/jitter on both mac and pc:

http://www.cycling74.com/forums/index.php?t=msg&goto=99049&rid=3204&S=2fdff9500c8de3377201cb373a11f4b7&srch=firefly+mv#msg_99049

Has anyone else had good/bad experiences with the firefly MV under windows (XP or Vista)?

On paper the Firefly MV looks the best in its price range, with higher fps rates than the Unibrain Fire-i board camera:

My aim is to do motion tracking of active IR markers using max/jitter on a PC (Vista).

Let me include a couple more questions for the ones that have used this one:

Does anyone have any idea of how much latency is there in the capture?
is this uncompressed firewire?

My aim is to do color tracking in a Mac

best,

J
