Firepod in Max, ins and outs

Hey all:

I’ve been trying to figure this out forever. I’m running guitar into my Firepod, then my my computer (Powerbook G4), then into my Max patch.

What I’d like to do is run the processed guitar out of the Firepod to my Echoplex, loop it, then run it back in to my laptop so that I can process it further, then send it out to the amp or PA.

I can’t seem to get the outputs on the Firepod to work for me. I can get the signal to the Echoplex and back, but it sounds terrible, is really quiet, and has a lag.

Anyone mapped out the outs on the Firepod with any success? I’m just trying all the possibilities systematically and am quite frustrated at this point.

Thanks thanks!
Jeff

Thanks, but afraid not, I’m using a Powerbook.

I’ve built several versions of loopers in Max – they work ok but there’s something about the hardware I like, plus it saves processing power. I suppose if this doesn’t work I’ll have to loop in Max.

I bought the Firepod because it said it had 8 outs. Maybe I was mistaken, but I thought it would be perfect for that kind of routing.

I should also mention, there’s supposedly a SEND and RETURN in the back, but it doesn’t work in that way.

Should run out of the box…
Did you check your settings the DSP window?

A looper doesn’t need much processing power…

It is, you could send your patch by copy all elements and the paste into
the mail body… How do you route the different outsinto [dac~ 1 2 3 4 5
6 7 8]…?

From Max you probably just have 10 outs and 6 ins (including sp/dif as
far as I recall…
