Check out Flashserver by a guy named Olaf Matthes

http://www.nullmedium.de/dev/flashserver/

takes some work to get started but I’ve gotten a number box in Max to control the “go to frame #” command in a running SWF. Lots more is of course possible from this humble start.

I have good experiences with loading a flash file in a jit.qt.movie. Just ‘read’ it. You can use several messages such as the keypress message to pass info to the movie’s actionscript inside qt.movie. more info in the html help file of jit.qt.movie

I don’t know which version of flash is supported best.

I used Flosc ( http://www.benchun.net/flosc ) sometimes, and I can say it works good. Never tried flashserver.
