Flickering video with quicktime grab and jit.op

I’m using jit.op to show a quicktime movie triggered by audio through msp peakamp~ and I want to blend that with a live quicktime grab via jit.xfade. As soon as I start the grab, the viewer from jit.op starts to flicker. I’ve tried to lessen the compression quality on the grab, and slow the metro, but it still flickers. I’ve been using max/msp/jitter only for about 2 months now, hence the constant roadblocks I guess!

Could you post your patch?
Difficult to help without seeing the specifics…

this is most likely a case of having two matrix patchcoords plugged
into the same window/pwindow and both being banged.

make sure you only have one patchcoord from the jit.op going to the
window.

if you have two matrix patchcoords going to the same window they will
both output a matrix, one RIGHT after the other during the same metro
‘bang’.

Think about event order in max, it will make sense.

Well, I disconnected all my patch cables from the grab, jit.op, and the quicktime player going into jit.op. I rerouted them in what seemed to be logical fashion, (I wanted a dry viewer for the catch, a viewer for the audio-triggered movie, and a viewer for the mix). It works great! Not sure where I messed up. For future reference, I should I post my patches on the forum if I have more issues? (which I’m sure I will!)
