I have 2 (soon to be more) float matrices containing video. the reason for float is mainly so i can have negative values in the matrices.

i have the 2 matrices going into a [jit.op @op +]

when i play the clip going into the left input i see it in the out put. when i play the left and right simultaneously, i see the result of the blend. however, when i play only the right input, i see nothing.

how can i make it so it will output anything the right input even with no left input? incidentally it does this just fine with char matrices...

ok sorry i was wrong... the problem is this:

got some premade clips that come in and get converted to float. i want to map [0 to 255] to [-1 to 1]

so i use a float matrix to get it into float, then multiply that by 2 and add -1 to get it into the range, which works.

the problem is that the clip doesn't loop, it returns to black, so when it isn't playing it ends up returning -1 instead of 0.

is there either a better way to get the values into the range i want, or a way to get the jit.qt.movie to return to 50% grey instead of 0 when not playing?

i hope that makes sense. im still a total nov at this...
