I've seen FLOSC but most of the activity is from way back in 2003 etc.

My forte is Flash as I've been using it since it's inception as FutureSplash from FutureWave way back in 1996 before Macromedia bought it then Adobe.

I'm learning Max/Msp/Jitter and am familiar with the issues involved.

What I'm wondering is if there is any open source I can use to create a .NET component to communicate an Author's Patch and that same Author's Flash Visual Demonstration of whatever variables are sent, and whatever sound/video is streamed.

I know there is the RED5 project, but that does not support Flash as far as I'm aware of (I use both AS 3.0 in Flash CS4, and in FLEX Pro 3 and the new Gumbo Public Beta).

I can install .NET objects and use them, and I was hoping to do the following:

1. Someone creates an interesting Max/Msp/Jitter 5.0 patch.

2. They also write a Flash Application (my specialty) to demonstrate visually whatever it is they want.

3. He sends out an e-mail to all his friends to meet him at a URL

4. All the friends, when they've all shown up, kind of like a Chat App, see the Flash app. running.

5. When the Patch Author wants to, they can begin, and the friends will see the results in Flash, because it's such a large installed base.

6. The friends can then download the patch for themselves and try it out on their own, taking temporary control as the "Demonstrator"

What Open Source Code can I get that will allow me to develop a .NET application that does what FLOSC does in Java?

A few months ago I spent some time looking into this (using OSC as a communication medium between Max and a .NET application). The only real .NET implementations that I've encountered are:

It contains a custom library that includes OSC support. Unfortunately, it is a very heavy and proprietary application, so using the library through conventional means is not possible (as far as I could tell).

It's a proprietary, mostly closed source application that's similar to Max, but is more targeted towards video. You can create .NET objects for use in it (see

). It also contains support for OSC (see 

), and I'm fairly certain that you can access OSC functionality in .NET code for the application. I do not recall whether this was implemented directly through a .NET library, or if it relies on the VVVV application for that stuff. There is an example project in their svn repository called "TUIODecoder", which contains an OSC library. It may have what you need.

I can see your point, I'm not really interested in .Net for Proprietary software.
