fontlist in Windows XP

February 6, 2007 | 8:04 pm

I’d like to clean up the results from the fontlist object in XP, since most of the fonts in it are not very useful in jit.gl.text3d. It also seems to not report some fonts that would be useful (for example, a font in my C:/WINDOWS/Fonts folder called "Super4.TTF" also known as "Superspsionic Tight") doesn’t show from fontlist, but I can load it with the "font Superspsionic" message. I’ve never modified/installed any fonts on my XP system, so I guess they are all standard with the install. Somehow, Word Pad is able to differentiate between OpenType and TrueType fonts in it’s fontlist – is there anyway of doing that with fontlist or some other strategy?

Thanks in advance,

Peter.
