, while in the PRE handing area, I encountered a problem yesterday. I was completely unable using the text-mode editor to enter in some code. The forum software continually stripped or mis-entity-ized things. I've attached the exact code that I wanted within PRE tags. Repro is to write some text like I am doing now, switch to text-mode, and then under it, start a PRE section and then paste in the attached code completely with line breaks, tabs, and spaces all with fixed width font. Then close the PRE. Switch to visual-mode. Chop-chop part of the code you pasted is gone.
