freaking out!! plz help
Ok.. so last night i was running max with no problem, i tuned my computer off and went to bed. Now i get up and try to run max, and the program will not even start.. it tries but then says this application has unexpectedly quit. In the load up screen it goes through the midi initialization but then gets to etable and then quits.. yes i have tried to reinstall, but this doesn’t help at all.. same thing.. By the way, i’m using a MAC powerbook, running 10.3.9. I’ve been using max for months with no problems but last night i was trying to create my first patch actually using the table object.. not sure if this isd related to the etable in the loading screen. but who know’s.. I’m freaking out i mean what could i have done the make max crash.. it was running fine last night. if it’ll help could some one look at the bug report. plz here it is. this stuff makes no sense to me.

i’m trying the prebinding script as we speak. I just thought about something. I did do something different when starting max this time i launched max then before it was finshed i went ahead and launched logic pro 7, might starting these programs at the same time cause some sort of problem, right as i started logic i thought “hey that was stupid” but i really didn’t think it’d cause irrevocable damage.. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I really hope i don’t have to reinstall logic 7 or OSX as my disks are in another state.. i’m in the process of moving.. OMG this really sucks. Logic does open with out problems as does any other audio program. Only having problems with max/msp.
thanks for reading and helping if you can, matthew

ok i’ve narrowed it down to the max start-up folder.. when i remove the max-startup folder max/msp runs fine.. however, i don’t have access to all the options in the pallate as you would expect.. I’ve reinstalled, but for somereason the start up folder is causing this crash. Now to figure out why and how to fix this..

and if you take the elements from this folder out, and then put them

basically anything audio related is causing a crash. i tried to check the dsp status and it crashes. i try to open an msp patch, it crashes. Like i said b4 , i think this occurred when i opened logic and max at the same time without waiting for max to finsih loading, maybe i should run the rewire updater again just to see if that helps. id on’t know. this sucks man!!!

if anyone else has this problem.. just delete the CFMsupport folder and run max.. it’ll ask you to reisntall.. just say yes. Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0×0002) at 0×00010043 is the error CFMsupport for somereason causes this.

In your Crash Log, the fact that ezadc~ is calling something labeled MaxPPC3.1 is extremely suspicious.
Do you have any old legacy Max stuff lying around? Given your other symptoms, I’d check Aliases in your max-startup folder. If that doesn’t give you a lead, than Spotlight your whole computer and comb through for old versions of Max.

This would indicate that CFM objects are in play. What version of Max
