Frequency detecting

Pardon if this is a quick fix that I have overlooked but…

I’m looking for a Max object that will allow me to determine the frequency of an audio input in real time. Does this exist? If not natively, are their plug ins that can do this?

Thanks,
Nick

Yeah, I’ve checked out Tristen’s stuff. I’m messing with fiddle~ right now, but I can’t seem to get the pitch, frequency, or dB to change, no matter what ridiculous noises I make.

Hi,

You could look at Gabor YIN
It’s available for free download here:

http://forumnet.ircam.fr/725.html?&L=1

I have a patch that gives you a midi note and volume output from Yin. It’s monophonic but works fast and efficiently.

I also have a version of a pitch tracker that uses the data from fiddle. Post back here if you want to check that out..

Regards,
Andrew
