From pattrstorage to pluggo

Hello,

i’m about to convert a patch in a vst plugin and i wonder what to do
with my preset’s system. I made a very complete one (quick store /
recall, name / rename, delete, export, import and so on) with a nice ui
and i figure it’ll be usefull when pluggo seems to deal with it’s own
system.

Questions are :

- do i have to trash all autopattr objects and replace every parameters
with pp ?
- do i have to trash pattrstorage and use plugconifg instead ?
- where do the presets go ? I’ve seen no external files in the pluggo
folder. Are they embedded ?
- what is the relationship between pluggo presets and cubase ones ?
- how do i do to make them sync ?
- how do i rename or delete a pluggo preset stored in plugconfig

thanks in advance

best regards

you can use autopattr like normnal, its fully functional
in pluggo – just cant save anything for next time. ;)

you should only _add pp parameters where you want them,
and leave your current preset system as is … except
initialisation, which should be removed.

> – do i have to trash pattrstorage and use plugconifg instead ?

they can run side by side, but there might be things which
are hard to reproduce with pp.

pp presets are stored in plugconfig. (as you know?)

> – what is the relationship between pluggo presets and cubase ones ?

when a VST plug-in is loaded, its presets are opened and
held in the cubase project. as soon as you save a cubase
project, preset programs (originals or edited ones) are
now part of the project and on next start the built-in
presets of the plug-ins are ignored – they are only loaded
when you load a new plug-in.
pluggo does not at all differ from other VSTs here.

> – how do i do to make them sync ?

by conecting them both to the stuff you want to control, say
a numbox. for autopattr its is probably not as straight
forward as it would be between [preset] and [pp].

> – how do i rename or delete a pluggo preset stored in plugconfig

there is a not very well-known message for naming presets
while storing it (“store myfinepreset 5″ or something like
that), but you can also just edit it inside the plugconfig
script. dont forget the quotes when there are spaces in the
name.
