I don’t agree, 1.0 is just no change to the input – granted. If you are
in danger with clipping in that case, think it clipped already before.

Depends on the application of course, but 128 for unity would not allow
to set a Midi slider to a no change position without correcting it (with
lp.scampf or lp.scampi of course ;-)

On the other hand, I never use gain~ anyway, I don’t like its curve.
Personally I don’t care…

well, if you’re gonna control it with a real world controler you’d
appreciate it. And even a screen control would have only integer
resolution determined by pixels…
