I’ve just started using gen~ and was wondering why [delay] has a maximum of 8 taps. I’m currently working on a project where 40-50 taps would be great to have without having to create parallel delay lines with the same audio content in it.

best! Edwin

Yes, in the next update the delay operator is not limited to 8 taps, however as a gen box it still has a limit of 16 inlets and 16 outlets. We may be able to remove that limitation also, though I’m not sure you’d want a box with 51 inlets and 50 outlets…

However there’s also going to be support for making delay operators in GenExpr in the next update, and with that there is no limit at all to the number of taps…

Dear Graham, Thanks for replying. That is excellent news.

Besides the number of taps I think that it would be nice to have the possibility to have more then 16 inlets / outlets but was not running into this limitation yet.

best! Edwin
