Generative composition?

Hi,

I have just downloaded Max/MSP today and I’m a complete novice so please excuse my ignorance!

What I want to do is press ‘record’ on a MIDI track in Cubase and for a random sequence of notes to be generated on that MIDI track.

Does anyone know whether something has been written to do this that I can modify further to do other things I want to then be able to do (e.g. use a MIDI controller to increase/decrease the flow of random notes)?

Is this the same as generative composition?

Many thanks & kind regards

Leon

You can do what you described by using the metro, random, makenote,
and noteout objects. Read the tutorials on them to learn how they are
used.
