Is there any way to get the current value of a dial? I'd like to be able to incrementally change its value.

I don't really want to have to start keeping [pv] around to track its value

several ways, there's [grab] and [inc/dec] or you use a gate behind the dial with +1 and -1. and bang the dial value into the desired gate outlet.

I have never been able to figure out the [pattr] system.

I ended up building an abstraction with pvars to do what I need.
