						<p>I&#8217;m trying to build a sound database and am stuck trying to get the file creation date of files. I can get the modification date using javascript but  this can change I&#8217;d like to be able to get the creation date to track files. </p>
<p>Anyone know how it&#8217;s done?</p>

<p>I took your: GetFileInfo -d &#8220;/Users/Tim_Lloyd/Desktop/blarg.txt&#8221;</p>
<p>and made it: GetFileInfo -d &#8220;/Users/johnburton/Desktop/iron.tiff&#8221;</p>
<p>nothing.</p>
<p>Any ideas?</p>

						<p>That looks like it should work.  Do you have the Apple developer tools installed?  That&#8217;s the only thing I can think of.  If you try it from Terminal by</p>
<p>cd Desktop<br />
GetFileInfo -d iron.tiff</p>
<p>and it still doesn&#8217;t work, then that&#8217;s got to be the reason!  You can install them from the disk you got with your comp via the XCode installer.</p>
