get rid of "symbol"

Hello,

do you know how to get rid of the “symbol” prepended to my messages out
from a [pyext] outlet (string format) to max world ? I remember the
problem also appears in Java…

best regards

I’m curious about this one, too. I’d been using [route symbol], but since
Vade suggested [fromsymbol] instead, I wonder what functional differences
there may be between these two methods.

route symbol? Same thing happens with a coll object and then there is “set” prepended before anything drawn out of the text object. Hrmz.

Use ‘route symbol’ and take both outputs to your destination. This
will route anything that is or isn’t as symbol, stripping ‘symbol’
off in the process.

Try it and you’ll see… (hint fromsymbol is for other purposes, and
doesn’t help at all for the original problem…)
