Getting Midi into Poly~

Alright, so I need to get some midi data into poly~.

It’s unfortunate that they stopped the poly papers because the one they stopped on does not help me.

I got the number of voices from my keyboard with:

Note-in—> borax

Then I made a poly~ with a subpatch.

The sub patch part is really really confusing. I’m not quite sure where the data is coming in. Does it come in from “thispoly”?
Or does it come in from an in~?

How do I change my midi data into something poly can use?

‘in’ is for messages
‘in~ is for signals~

just read the helpfile for the object, it’s all well covered in there… if not, maybe be more specific

you can send midi in many ways… midinote, note messages or target the individual poly’s with the target messages…

Since I posted this, I’ve been searching this forum for a similar question.

It is great, and it is really helping me figure this out.

The only thing is that he uses his own custom object to regulate attack/release. I can’t load custom objects on my computer at school.

Any ideas on how to use the “tib” attack release without this custom object.

don’t know this object, but you can use adsr~ object…. if you only wan’t a/r, just set sustain to 1. and decay to 0.
